Sean's adventures in SoCal

While in LA, we took an architectural driving tour.

First, we visited the Gamble house by Greene and Greene Architects. This amazing craftsman house was full of woodworking details. Unfortunately, we were only allowed to take pictures outdoors.

A few days later, we visited the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Hollyhock house. After seeing a few other modern homes in the hills, we visited the Eames Case study house #8 in Pacific Pallisades. We had trouble getting a hold of anyone at the Eames Foundation to schedule a visit, but decided to show up after hours and hope to get a look. This was the way to go as we were able to park right in the driveway and take all the pics we wanted.

Also, while visiting LA I ventured down to San Diego. Here I saw Stevo and his girlfriend Jane. We rode bikes around town and visited ArtElexia (an awesome gift shop owned by Jeanette’s brother and sister in law). We also toured the zoo and then visited Stevo’s friend Rob in Mexico. Rob lived about 30 min south of Tijuana on the Pacific coast. We could see the ocean from his patio! Mexico and San Diego were both really beautiful.
